Preparation for the first reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation (Penance or Confession) and Holy Eucharist (Communion) is a collaborative effort between parents, the parishes of St. Boniface and St. Mary, and Piqua Catholic School. Our goal is to provide a purpose driven curriculum for parents to prepare their children through simple participation in the preparation process.
Parents are the Primary teachers of the Faith, therefore, are responsible for preparing their children for the Sacraments. The Church understands that this task can be difficult, so it provides a purpose driven curriculum for families to plug into. Those attending Piqua Catholic School receive preparation during their normal religion class. Those attending home, private, or public schools receive preparation through the Religious Education Program offered on Wednesday Evenings.
In addition to the basic instruction provided by Piqua Catholic and the Religious Education Program, St. Boniface and St. Mary parishes come together for special sacrament preparation events as a parish community.
For children who have yet to be Baptized, please contact Deacon Jim Niswonger or DRE Diane Mengos or Principal Brad Zimmerman at the Parish offices 937-773-1327 or 937-773-1656 or the School 773-1564..
